Clint G. Mondano (Head Boys Basketball Coach )

Coach Mondano begins his second season with the Warriors, but first as the interim head coach. Last season, he helped guide the Warriors to a back to back championship campaign which included a share of the 1st Mayor Ernesto Matugas Inter-School Basketball Tournament. The Warriors continued on to Regional Championship before ultimately falling to second place against Butuan City. Mondano brings a great deal of experience, which includes stints as both a high school assistant and head coach, basketball trainor, and elite level club team coach.

During Coach Mondano’s tenure as Varsity Assistant Coach under head coach Mike Reyes program (2003-2005), Clint experienced a resurgence of sorts. Clint was able to rise to the seeded top team in the Cebu Basketball rankings, highlighted by wins over prominent high school and elementary programs such as San Carlos North and South and also in Mandaue Elementary and Secondary Schools.

Coach Mondano has also proven himself on a national level. In 2004, his 12 and under elite level travel team placed 11th in the country at the National Games. The following year, his 16 and under team either won or placed in the Mandaue or Cebu, in several prestigious tournaments. In 2008, Mondano travels to Hong Kong to coach his 16 under team in the 17 Super Kung Sheung Cup.

Perhaps one of Coach Mondano’s greatest accomplishments was the rise and rapid development of former Royal Oaks star and Mandaue City Amateur Basaketball Association Elementary standout Johneil Roxas. Under his guidance, Rojas saw his game and recruiting stock Las Vegas Middle School, making him one of the schools prized recruits.

Coach Mondano is entering his second year in the Sports Department at NorthEastern Mindanao Colleges. He has coach basketball for almost nine years now, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education major in Mathematics from Saint Paul University, and Coaching Seminars and Clinics from different local and national coaches.
